Knaresborough Stillness

Sally facilitates an Eckhart Tolle Stillness group in north Leeds every week

Sharing stillness and Eckhart's teachings is a very powerful practice, joining with like minded people in presence feels to amplify the experience of being together in the now

Indeed Eckhart Tolle said "... But if you are fortunate enough to find someone who is intensely conscious, if you can be with them and join them in the state of presence, that can be helpful and will accelerate things. In this way your own light will quickly grow stronger. When a log that has only just started to burn is placed next to one that is burning fiercely, and after a while they are separated again, the first log will be burning with much greater intensity. After all it is the same fire ..."

... format for the evening

We begin with a short 10 minute silent meditation to settle in, then watch about an hour of video/DVD of an Eckhart talk or retreat

To be conscious of Being, you need to reclaim consciousness from the mind. This is the most essential task on your spiritual journey
Eckhart Tolle

There is then a longer period of silent meditation (around 30 minutes)

At the end of the evening those who wish to can just take the stillness with them ...... others may choose to stay and chat

Being together in a state of presence is a very powerful practice and it feels right for everyone to choose what feels right for them. It is so different from most social gatherings where people feel they have to "make conversation" ...... this is all about being our true selves without judgement. In fact this offers a unique experience!

The Group meets every Monday evening from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at The Friends Meeting House, 136 Street Lane, Roundhay, Leeds LS8 2BW. This is not a 'course' so please feel free to come along any Monday at 7.30 pm!

Cost is £5.00 to help with rental costs

Stillness Groups also meet locally in York and Hebden Bridge, and there are many others across the UK and beyond. If you or your friends would be interested in joining an existing group, or maybe setting up a new one in your area, please visit www.eckharttollecontactsuk.org. The site is dedicated to helping support the development of new and existing Eckhart Tolle stillness groups throughout the UK
